Generation Infocus partners with ChopArt to reflect on Gratitude

ChopArt is a non-profit organization helping homeless youth express themselves through art. Serving ages 10-18, ChopArt has been impacting those experiencing homelessness since 2010 in Atlanta, New Orleans, Hyderabad, India, and Accra, Ghana.

To help foster awareness and generate funds, Generation Infocus has partnered with the organization to provide a platform for positive and creative self-reflection. Our staff worked with a handful of girls on the theme of “Gratitude” to produce contemporary abstract paintings. They explored how color, line and shape can portray emotion within their art. They accented their pieces with textile elements to create texture and enhance the visual depth.

The paintings will be on display and for sale at The Hapeville Maker Space during our fall exhibition opening on November 16th, 2018. All proceeds will go to the ChopArt organization to benefit the youth participants and their families. If you would like to purchase a painting or make a donation please email us at contactus@generationinfocus.com.

You can also donate by visiting ChopArt online at http://chopart.org/support-us/.

The Hapeville Maker Space was welcomed into the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Hapeville’s own Mayor Alan Hallman. The event included various activities such as live music, vendors, prizes, snacks, and tours of the new space.

Generation Infocus Executive Director Tiffany Ray says, “Our new 6600 sq.ft colonial home will be a melting pot of different ages, cultures and interests where our passions will be enhanced by our unique perspectives and goals. Our desire to INSPIRE, EMPOWER and INFLUENCE the next generation of change makers begins with the freedom to imagine, explore and create in a welcoming and collaborative environment.”

Through Historic preservation, The Hapeville Maker Space aligns with the Hapeville City redevelopment and revitalization goals to bring more public art and programming into the community. The Hapeville Maker Space will provide the following:

• Educational opportunities through project-based STEAM workshops

• Rentable conference and studio rooms

Generation Infocus receives 2018 Pacesetter Award!

We are so honored to receive a 2018 Pacesetter Award from the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The Pacesetter Award is an honor given to an exclusive list of Atlanta’s fastest-growing companies. The awards represent the most comprehensive look at private business growth within the metro area. Qualifying companies are ranked by a weighted growth index formula, factoring both employee growth and revenue growth, to create a level playing field amongst businesses of various sizes. The winners were honored April 26 at the Georgia Aquarium.

Thank you Mayor Kasim Reed

Lightbox_Post-2.jpg

As Atlanta prepares to welcome a new mayor, we wanted to do something very special for Kasim Reed. He has generously supported Generation Infocus through the WEI program and we are very thankful for all that he has done for us so that we can continue supporting young minds through STEAM education. Our team constructed an LED lit city scape to represent how STEAM powers our entire city. Thank you again for your support and we wish you much success in your future endeavors!

Girl Scouts Super STEM Expo

Generation Infocus partnered with the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta to create the ultimate Maker's Space during the Super STEM Expo in Atlanta. We brought all of our "larger-than-life" projects out and had a FANTASTIC time! From Hack-a-thons to an oversized Hamster Wheel and a Fashion Design Museum, we demonstrated the best in our STEAM programming.
