WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?
A typical day is packed with fun, learning, and creativity from start to finish...
(7:30am - 8:30am) Check In + Breakfast – As you check your child in, they will be greeted and welcomed with a healthy breakfast.
(8:30am - 9:00am) Mindful Mornings – Before the day of STEAM kicks into gear, students can engage in character education or meditation and yoga exercises to center their minds in a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
(9:00am-9:15am) Bathroom Break & Transition Time
(9:15am - 11:15am) - Morning STEAM Lab + Fitness Fun – During this time we will divide the students into two groups based on grade level. While half our students participate in the Morning STEAM Lab lesson, the other half will enjoy a Fitness activity such as soccer.
(11:15pm - 11:45) Prep for Lunch + Health Habits Activity - As we prepare for lunch, children will have a bathroom break and will enjoy a mini-lesson on healthy habits.
(11:45pm – 12:15pm) Lunch Break - We provide a nutritious USDA certified afternoon lunch. Parents may pack additional snacks for their children but outside food is only allowed to be eaten during the designated lunch and/or snack times.
(12:15pm – 12:45pm): Free Choice Time/Naptime - After transitioning, students will be allowed free choice time to engage in activities that match their unique interests. Choice Time allows for freedom in creative expression and is a great block of time for children to explore and connect with peers. Younger children will be encouraged to take a nap or have down time.
(12:45pm - 2:00pm) Afternoon STEAM Lab + Fitness Fun – 30 minute rotations of a midday STEAM Lab + Fitness Fun activity with a 15 minute break in between.
(2:00pm - 2:30pm) Dismissal 1 – We will regroup with some well-deserved choice time while allotting time for afternoon pick-ups.
(2:30pm - 3:00pm) Evening Snack – During this time we will provide a nutritious snack to keep young minds energized.
(3:00pm - 5:00pm) Evening STEAM Lab + Fitness Fun – Students will participate in an additional STEAM Lab + Fitness activity to keep their minds and bodies engaged as the day comes to an end.
(5:00pm – 5:45pm) Choice Time – Students will wind down with their choice of activity (which may include a board game, movie or an arts & crafts project.)
(5:45pm - 6:00pm) Dismissal 2 – This marks the end of a STEAM-filled day! Be prepared to hear about all the new and exciting things your child has learned in our Summer Camp!
